Frank Blum

Frank A. Blum, age 106, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Frank Albert Blum was born on May 11, 1916 in Bourbon, MO to Anselm and Elizabeth (Strothkamp) Blum. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was discharged in 1945 having attained the rank of Machinist Mate First Class. On January 6, 1944, Frank was united in marriage to Mary Louise Remmert and they were blessed with two children, Dorothy and Charles. Frank and Mary celebrated 78 years of marriage together. He owned and operated Blum Truck Service for many years, delivering fertilizer to area farmers and hauling cattle. After retiring in 1981, they enjoyed camping and traveling around the country for several years. He enjoyed woodworking and built and repaired items for many. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church.

Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Blum of Sullivan, MO; one daughter, Dorothy Schebaum of Sullivan, MO; grandchildren; Kenneth “Dean” Schebaum and wife Candice, Darren Schebaum all of Sullivan, MO, Adam Blum and wife Heather of Arkansas,  Dwayne McAmis of Kansas; great-grandchildren: Austin Mesey, Aaron Mesey, Kaitlyn Schebaum, Emma Schebaum, Emilie Blum, Layton Blum, Journee Blum, Taylor McAmis and Jonathan McAmis; other relatives and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his son, Charles Blum; his parents, Anselm and Elizabeth Blum; brothers, Bill and Harry Blum;  sisters: Alvina Blum, Frances Adams and Theresa Mathis;  son-in-law, Ralph Schebaum and grandson, Daniel McAmis.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor John Blackmore officiating. Interment  followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation was held from 1 to 3 p.m., Monday at the Eaton Funeral Home.
