Evelyn J. Hoerath, 63, of Bourbon, MO, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan.

Evelyn Janie Hoerath was born on May 3, 1958 in Savannah, Tennessee to Willie and Ella (Moore) Garrard. She grew up and attended school in Savannah, and later in life, received her beauticians license in the state of Texas.

Jamie eventually moved to Missouri, where she met Roy Smith. They were united in marriage and together they blended their families. They continued to raise their family in Saint Clair, then in Bourbon, while Janie worked full time at Video World & Tanning Spa alongside her best friend, Teresa Gable. Sadly, Janie and Roy later divorced.

Later in life, Janie met Herman Hoerath and they were united in marriage in 2012. Together they shared 10 + years enjoying each other and their time together at home. Herman passed away in 2018.

Janie was grateful for the time she was able to spend with her beloved best friend, Teresa Gable. They loved traveling, working together and simply enjoying each other’s company. Janie loved all thing plants and enjoyed cooking French toast for her grandkids. She especially loved and cherished time spent with them.

Janie was a loving and selfless mother and grandmother who was undoubtedly family oriented and never met a stranger. She was also a fighter and had a strong will to live.
