Evan R. Copsey II
Evan R. Copsey II, age 89, of Mound City, Missouri, formerly of Sullivan, Missou- ri passed away Monday, No- vember 14, 2022 at a Mound City, MO care center.
Evan Reese Copsey II was born on February 14, 1933 in Springfield, Missouri to par- ents Evan Reese and M. Belle (West) Copsey. Evan gradu- ated from Springfield High School, Springfield, Missouri in 1951, and Drury College with a degree in Geology in 1955.
On January 29, 1955 he married Jane McFarland Davis in Sullivan, Missou- ri. They became parents of three children. Evan and Jane owned the Fidelity, Holway and KLM Telephone Com- panies for many years. He also farmed, was an avid rock collector and even proud- ly played the clarinet for the Springfield Symphony for several years.
Evan is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jane, of Mound City; their children, Evan Re- ese (Tresa) Copsey III, Rich Hill, Missouri; Bruce (Pau- la) Copsey, Hot Springs Vil- lage, Arkansas; and Jennifer (Darren) Newbanks, Sulli- van, Missouri; brothers, Re- ese Evan Copsey, Camarillo, California and Kirk Copsey, Kelseyville, California; eight grandchildren, Sarah and Sa- mantha Newbanks, Steve and Kyle (Devon) Copsey, Karen (Richard) Kithcart, Amanda Long, James Latzel, and Bri- an Copsey; 8 great grandchil- dren, Logan, Halie, Ethan, Eric, Zack, David, Evan, Fin- ley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Bet- ty Maples.
Services were held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Novem- ber 19, 2022 at the Eaton Fu- neral Home of Sullivan, MO with Pastor Brenda Stobbe officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F Memorial Ceme- tery, Sullivan.
Visitation was held at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
