Eugene J. Walsh, 74, of Cuba, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan.

Eugene Joseph Walsh, Sr. was born January 18, 1947 in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Anthony and Ethel “Frances” (Sansoucie) Walsh. He grew up and attended school in Saint Louis, graduated high school and then quickly enlisted into the United States Navy, where he honorable served our country for three years. Shortly thereafter, he was united in marriage to Judy Patterson. To their union six children were born: Eugene, Tony, Karen, Sharon, Debby & Patty. Sadly, Judy later passed away.

In 2007, Gene met Birddie Hawkins. Together they blended their families and shared 14 years together. Christmas time and traveling to Branson and Gulf Shores were some of their most fond memories with one another. Gene & Birddie also enjoyed being outdoors, going for walks, and attending church together. Gene had many other interests, such as fishing, shopping, woodworking, old cars and gospel and old country music. One of his favorite past times was tinkering on things, especially motors. Gene was a very faithful, loving, generous and compassionate person who would help anyone. He will be so dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Gene is survived by his beloved fiancé, Birddie Hawkins, of Cuba, MO; five children: Eugene Walsh, Jr. and wife Vicki, Debby Amsden, Patty Walsh, Karen Walsh & Sharon Walsh; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a niece, Melissa Lockhart and husband Terry; four sisters: Annette Barr, Theresa Ross, Jaqueline Geiger and husband Paul, and Bernie Will and husband Victor; as well as other extended relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy; a son, Tony Walsh; his parents, Anthony and Frances; one brother, Richard Walsh; and two brothers-in-law, David Barr & Mike Ross.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place. A Memorial Service was held 3 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Casey officiating.

Visitation wase held from 2-3 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
