Elaine M. Ard

Elaine M. Ard, 82, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023, in Sullivan, MO. Born on June 10, 1941, in Decatur, Indiana, Elaine was a devoted homemaker for much of her adult life, occasionally working various local jobs.

Elaine grew up in Indiana and attended college in California, where she was blessed with eight children. She was united in marriage to Gregory Ard on October 1, 1978. The couple started their life together in California and moved across the nation several times before settling as a family in Sullivan, MO, in the 1990s.

She enjoyed reading magazines, writing letters, and was skilled in embroidery and sewing. Elaine enjoyed meeting new people and cherished the time she spent traveling with her husband, Greg, while driving over the road. She had a unique and special bond with each of her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Elaine is survived by her six sons: Eric Lintermoot, James Lintermoot and wife Juanita, Sean Todd, Michael Ard and wife Jessica, Gregory Ard II and fiancé Danielle Ingrassia, all of Sullivan, MO, and Jerry Todd and wife Christine of Southwick, MA; two daughters, Michelle Lintermoot and Toni Behrends, both of Sullivan, MO; 40 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Costello of Sullivan, MO and Patty Lippi and husband Donald of OH; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory, and her parents, George and Emma.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place. No services are planned at this time.
