Edward ‘Ed’ Heads

Edward “Ed” Eugene Heads, 52, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Ed was born on April 17, 1969 in Sullivan, MO, to Gene Medders and Helen Louise Bridgeman. He grew up and attended school in Sullivan. Ed eventually met Tami Wood, with whom he shared twenty-five plus years with. They were blessed with their two daughters, Samantha and Ashley.

Ed was employed by Industrial Wire for twelve plus years. He loved every minute that he was able to spend outdoors. Ed loved Sappington Bridge, where he would float and jump off of the bridge. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns and bows, and hanging out at barbeques with his family and friends. Ed was an animal lover and he selflessly cared for them. He was also a jokester who loved to tell tall tales and found humor in arguments. Ed would give the shirt off of his back for anyone and was a devoted caretaker of his mother for over three years. Most of all, Ed loved his grandbabies. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by those who knew him.

Ed is survived by his two daughters, Samantha Wood and fiancé Chris Mayer of Sullivan, MO, and Ashley Heads of Sullivan, MO; his mother, Helen Blakey of Sullivan, MO; two grandchildren, Riley and Axel; one brother, Richard Medders of Sullivan, MO; four sisters: Donna Studdard of Sullivan, MO, Molly Rector and husband Richard Sr. of Sullivan, MO, Melody Wideman of Bourbon, MO, and Roxanna Underwood and husband Daniel of Sullivan, MO; nieces and nephews: Glen, Cynthia, Jennifer, Melinda, Bud, Tiffaney, Michael, Dustin, Jonathan, Austin and Devon; other extended relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal and Willie Bridgeman.

Funeral Services were held 7 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Brother John Ripley officiating. Cremation  followed the service.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
