Dr. Ellery ‘Doc’ R. Anderson

Dr. Ellery “Doc” R. Anderson, 97, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital – Sullivan on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
Ellery was born on June 28, 1924 in Shell Lake, WI, to Axel Emil Anderson and Hattie Deloris (Peterson) Anderson. He grew up attending school in Shell Lake and graduated with the high school class of 1944. He went on to attend Logan Chiropractic in 1946.
Doc started his practice in Pacific, MO, where he met Janet Kerans, who became his wife on November 24, 1948. They were blessed with two children, Raymond and Gloria.
In May of 1949, Lorraine Mitchell got Doc to come to Sullivan to start practicing here. He was still practicing Chiropractic care up until 2021. Doc enjoyed playing the violin, he was a member of Kiwanis and he attended the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Doc is survived by his two children, Raymond “Rusty” Anderson and wife Dorothy of Wichita, KS & Gloria Plank and husband Dennis of Sullivan, MO; three grandchildren: Tristan Anderson of Wichita, KS, Sean Alexander & wife Beth of Hendersonville, TN, & Jared Plank of Pearland, TX; three great-grandchildren: Nicolas, Vincent & Madi Alexander; as well as numerous nieces & nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; his parents, Axel & Hattie Anderson; three brothers: Earl, Chester & Vernon; & two sisters, Florence Cole & Helen Javner.
Cremation arrangements have taken place. A Remembrance Memorial Service was 6 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church of Sullivan, with Pastor Ron Koppelmann officiating.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service at First Presbyterian Church of Sullivan.
Memorial contributions in Doc’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Sullivan.
