Dorothy Lynn Fox, 64, of Leslie, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, and won her battle with cancer as she entered our Heavenly Father’s arms.

Dorothy was born on February 1, 1958 to Dr. Richard and Elizabeth {Fox) Howell in Evanston, Illinois. She grew up and attended school in the area and graduated from Mundelein High School.

Later in life Dorothy furthered her education at the Chicago Travel Academy where she received a degree in travel and hospitality. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and simply being around people. In 1992 she became the owner of Zeekro Travel Agency in Lake St. Louis and operated the business until her retirement. She also erected the Fox Deluxe Travel Academy where she taught students who were aspiring travel agents.

Dorothy traveled extensively across the globe. She has sailed on 35 cruises as well as anything that floats. She enjoyed experiencing the joys of learning about new and different cultures and discovering the beauties of the world.

Dorothy enjoyed life to the fullest and found the joy within every moment. She encourages you to do the same. Dorothy encourages us to enjoy what we have now because nothing lasts forever, except memories.

Dorothy’s faith has been something she has always held close to her heart. God has held her hand through every step of her journey.

As her wise and much-loved father wrote to her, “Dorothy, you always will be the little girl whose loved animals and life so much.” She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Dorothy is survived by her five daughters: Carey Bethel - Ruden of Saint Charles, MO, Kimberly Greiner and husband Ryan of Saint Charles, MO, Savannah, Anna Marie and Hannah Beckmann; two grandchildren: Christian Ruden and Sadie Rose Ruden of Saint Charles, MO; two brothers, Dr. Richard Howell Jr. and wife Reggie of Flagstaff, AZ, and Robert Howell and wife Cathy of Fox Lake, IL; four sisters: Juliet Masters and husband David of Lake Tahoe, NV, Melodie Dixon and husband Wes from Shawnburg, IL, and Liza Johnson and husband Brad of Bangs Lake, IL and Cheri Maday and husband Randy of Bangs Lake, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Arrangements for cremation have taken place with no services planned at this time.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nancy.
