Dorothy M. Brown, 78, of Union, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Mercy Hospital – Washington. 

Dorothy Marie was born in Arkansas on December 31, 1942, to Jess and Dorothy (Tucker) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Kirkwood, MO. As a young woman, Dorothy worked as a nanny, before meeting Houston Brown. They were united in marriage on April 22, 1970. Dorothy soon became a wife, homemaker and mother to Houston’s children. During her life, she also sold mobile homes, managed a trailer park, and eventually founded “Lucky Lady Tours”. 

Houston and Dorothy started out in High Ridge, where they founded “Quiet Meadows Trailer Court”. They later moved to Union, MO, where they built their home. Dorothy had just retired in 2018. She and Houston enjoyed dancing and spending time together. 

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Houston Brown, of Union, MO; her daughter, Rhonda DeClue and husband, Lonnie, of Fenton, MO; two grandchildren, Jack Lamar and wife, Sandy, of St. Charles, MO, and Joseph DeClue and wife, Alyssa, of Sullivan, MO; adopted granddaughter, Felisha Coleman, of Union, MO; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Dorothy Johnson; and two sisters, Mona Shipman and Frances Hemker.

Cremation arrangements have taken place. No services are planned at this time.
