Donna Stroup McKellips

Donna Mae Stroup McKellips (née Olson), born March 28, 1942, passed away Friday August 20, 2021. Daughter of William and Gertrude Olson (née Rockwell). Married Robert Stroup and from this union they had four children: Anita, David, Rhonda and Kami. Later they would divorce and she married Darwin.

She moved to Sullivan from Minnesota. She definitely made it her home. She was a member of Grace UMC. Donna had been a member of the Rebekah’s. She had many jobs, her latest being in home health care. She loved being around people, going to outings with friends, spending time with family and being involved with her church activities, especially her involvement with community calling for meals.

Survived by her daughters: Anita Sumpter, Rhonda “Tutti” Stroup Busse and Kamilla “Kami” Walters (Scott Post); six grandchildren: Brandi “Shelly”, Robert, Celia and Phillip Patterson, Samantha (Will) Lambert and Amber Walters (Shaun Odle); six great grandchildren: Desi, Lexi, Kaylee, Talia, Raina and Jensen; her siblings: Betty Miller of Iowa, Mary Benedict of Minnesota, Peggy Moss of Minnesota, Gracie Harnish of Wisconsin and Jim Olson of Minnesota. She was also a sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many. She was preceeded in death by her parents, son David Stroup and brother Bill Olson who lived in Maryland.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers and the hospital staff for making her comfortable.

Services: Visitation was on Thursday, August 26, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Eaton’s Funeral Home in Sullivan MO.
