Donna S. Starr

Donna Starr, 70, of Bourbon, MO, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Hospital of Sullivan, MO.

Donna Sue Bertrand was born September 21, 1952 in Sullivan, MO to Glenn and Betty (Woodcock) Bertrand.  She grew up and attended school in Spring Bluff, then Sullivan, graduating with the class of 1970.  Donna was united in marriage to James Starr on November 6, 1976 and to this union three sons were born:  Jedadiah, Joshua, and Joseph.  She went to work for Community Auto Parts as a young woman and remained there as bookkeeper for nearly 40 years.  Donna’s life was centered around her family as her sons grew up and began families of their own.  She loved her grandchildren dearly.

Donna was an active member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and past member of the local Boy Scouts of America.  She attended Meramec Valley Baptist Church.  Over the years, Donna loved crocheting, reading and cooking.  She also had a profound love for Alabama Crimson Tide Football.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Donna is survived by her sons:  Jed “JJ” Starr and his wife, Samantha, Joshua Starr and his wife, Shauna all of Sullivan, MO and Joseph Starr and his wife, Christie of Bourbon, MO; eleven grandchildren:  Trent, Madison, Dalton, Chase, Sydney, Andrew, Jase, Jesse, Jackson, Lucas, & William; three great-grandchildren:  Baiden, Kennedy, & Collin; her brother, Jake Bertrand of Sullivan, MO; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Ryley Conrad; and a nephew, Glenn Marshall Bertrand III.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan, MO with Pastor Erik Williams officiating.  Burial will take place at Cave Spring Cemetery, Sullivan.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan.

Memorial contributions may be made in Donna’s memory to Ryley’s Court.
