Donna L. Harp, 90, of Eureka, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023 at Meramec Nursing Center.

Donna Larraine Harp was born July 29, 1932 to Otis and Edith (Fulmer) Lacy in Whitehall, IL. She grew up and attended school in the Whitehall area until going to work for Keys Restaurant in Villa Ridge, MO. While working in Villa Ridge, she was united in marriage to Clarence Herbst in 1948. To this union they were blessed with three children, Stephen, Linda and Brenda. Together they continued raising their family in the Villa Ridge area. They later were divorced.

Years later, Donna met and was united in marriage to Patrick Kane. Together they blended their families and were blessed with a daughter of their own, Kandy. They were later divorced.

Donna and Kandy moved to Georgia for a short time before Donna was united in marriage to Harold Harpe on August 3, 1980. Together they relocated to Florida where they remained for 30+ years while Donna worked as a home health nurse. Donna and Harold enjoyed spending time together traveling to Europe, especially to France and Normandy where Harold proudly served in WWII. They were also avid cruisers, Hawaii being one of their most favorite destinations.

While living in Florida, Donna looked forward to each opportunity she had hosting and entertaining her family there. She always made sure to prepare a big meal for everyone during their visit. Donna knew how to make you laugh, especially for photos. A simple, “say cheese” was not enough for her. So, she came up with her own, “Fuzzy Pickles!”

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Donna is survived by her four children: Dr. Stephen Herbst and significant other, Vickie Glassman of Van Buren, MO, Linda Smith and husband Rich of Pacific, MO, Brenda Snyder of Washington, MO and Kandy Giles of Underwood, WA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great – grandchildren; 12 great – great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Lacy, of FL; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents, Otis & Edith; a brother, Otis; son in law, John Snyder; two grandsons: Theodor Giles & Heath Herbst.
