Dolly W. Osborne

Dolly W. Osborne, a loving, kind, and spirited woman, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023, in St. Louis, MO at the age of 91.

Dolly was born on October 1, 1932, in Adams County, Indiana to
Vernon and Ramona Mae (Clark) Uhrick, one of eight children. She was united in marriage to her husband, John William Osborne, on March 14, 1953. Together, they moved their family to Baden, Missouri, where they remained for the next fifty years. In 2018, Dolly relocated to Sullivan with her daughter, Phyllis.

Dolly was a dedicated worker and a talented cook. She was employed at several restaurants, including the Chase Hotel, Lamplighter, Crisco's, and Hardees, where she was the first "Grannie" for the biscuits. Her dedication to her work was evident, as she continued to work until she was 77 years old.

In her spare time, Dolly enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She was an avid crocheter, a competitive card player, and a lover of fishing. She also had a deep appreciation for country and western music, with some of her favorite artists being Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Merle Haggart.

Dolly is survived by three daughters, Darlene Smith and husband Gary, Sherry McClain and husband Mark, and Phyllis Whitnell; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Helen Uhrick; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ramona Uhrick; her husband, John  Osborne; two children, Patricia and Jerry Osborne; five beloved grandchildren; and six siblings, Elmer, Red, Ramona, Walt, Josephine, and Delie Uhrick; and son-in-law, James Whitnell.

Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with cremation to follow.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
