Dennis E. Wiese, 91, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Scenic Nursing & Rehab of Herculaneum. 

Dennis Eugene Wiese was born April 11, 1933, to the late Bernice and Floris (Bell) Wiese in Sullivan, Missouri. Dennis grew up and attended school in Sullivan and was a proud graduate and treasurer of the Sullivan High School class of 1951. 

After high school, Dennis began working for International Shoe in Sullivan for a short time before embarking on a career in architecture with Couples Engineering. Dennis then relocated to Saint Louis, where he spent the majority of his working life. He was a brilliant mind and became a self – taught draftsman. He continued his career with Dunman, which was later purchased and rebranded as, Universe. During his career, Dennis worked on projects such as the World Trade Center, John Hancock building, Edison Brothers Bank building and the Sears tower.

In his retirement, Dennis moved back to Sullivan where he made his final home. Dennis was a faith-filled man with an extensive knowledge of the Bible. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sullivan and served in many different ways including as a Christ Ambassadors Leader, Sunday School teacher, choir director, and often singing specials alongside his dear friend, Bernice Woodruff.

Dennis was a phenomenal pianist and organist, even composing his own music. He loved to not only play for his church, but worship the Lord in his playing. Dennis was a generous person and loved people just as Christ did. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. 

He is survived by his extended family whom he loved as his own children: Robert Woodruff and wife Ellen and their daughter Paige all of O’Fallon, Missouri and Donna Sand and husband Gary of Arnold, Missouri; a nephew, Doug Blanton of Sullivan, Missouri; a niece, Debbie Betke and husband Steve of Sullivan, Missouri; and two great – nieces, Hannah Betke and Abigail Pipkin and husband John; other relatives, church family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Floris Wiese; a sister, Sue Blanton and husband Orville; and a special family friend whom he loved like a daughter, Judy Woodruff.

A Remembrance Memorial service will be 12 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Ron Garner officiating. Inurnment will follow at the I.O.O.F Memorial Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church of Sullivan. 

All arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Sullivan.
