David Strothcamp, 71, of Hudson, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Renaissance of Richfield/Bath in Richfield, OH.

David Arthur Strothcamp was born on July 4, 1950 in Saint Louis, MO to Arthur and Vera (Luecke) Strothcamp. He grew up and attended school in Saint Louis and graduated from Normandy High. After high school, he continued his education with the University of Missouri – Saint Louis and obtained a bachelor’s degree, then transferred to Washington University to receive his master’s degree.

A highlight of David’s life was his work with the Cleveland Clinic as an IT Auditor. He was an integral part in establishing relations with the FBI and businesses for cyber security issues. He was also a key member in the development of “InfraGard” with the FBI. This group is now a part of the department of homeland security.  

In 1991, David reconnected with Mary Baseler and together they were united in marriage in 1994. They worked and resided in Hudson, where he retired in 2006. They enjoyed travelling together over the years. David was fond of country music, fishing and being with family. He was lifelong student of life, always eager to learn new things. David will be remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to help others.

David is survived by his loving wife, Mary, and many family and friends.

He was preceded by his parents, Arthur and Vera.

Private services were held on  Thursday, March 24, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan, MO. Burial at Old Argo Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given in David’s memory to the Old Argo Cemetery.
