Daniel R. Kappelmann, 65, of Bourbon, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 7, 2022.

Daniel Ray, known as Danny, was born August 3, 1956 in Washington, MO to Charles J. and Betty L. (Weirich) Kappelmann. Danny grew up and attended school in Washington and honorably served his country in the United States Navy from November 21, 1973 to November 18, 1977. As a teenager, Danny loved music and played in a band. He was known as “D.J. Dan” “The Spin Doctor”. In 1977, Danny was united in marriage to Diane Villaveenva and two sons were born, Scott and Brian. Danny was employed by Dana Corporation in Chesterfield for many years, retiring in 2000. He moved to Bourbon in 2014 to make his final home.

Danny loved NASCAR and attending and participating in car shows with his Dad, Charlie. He was well known by everyone and well liked. Danny really enjoyed being a D.J. and taking care of his friends that were down on their luck and needed a helping hand. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Danny is survived by two sons, Scott and Brian Kappelmann, both of Kearny, Nebraska; his parents, Charles and Betty Kappelmann of Sullivan, MO; numerous grandchildren; three sisters: Kim Schmidt and Tammy Yenzer, both of Bourbon, MO and Shelly Yenzer and husband Jim of Washington, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
