Daniel L. Miller, 73, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.

Daniel Lee Miller was born December 4, 1950, to Raymond and Edna (Record) Miller in Bourbon, Missouri. He grew up and attended school in Bourbon before entering the workforce. Danny then went to work for various local employers such as the Saint James Veterans Home and Meramec Shoe in Sullivan. Around this same time, Danny was united in marriage to Bonnie Maylee and together they were blessed with two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer. They sadly later divorced.

While raising his young family, Danny then began employment at the Missouri Farmers Association in Sullivan where he would remain for the next 33 years. Here he made many lasting friendships with co-workers but also various local customers. He was known for his surmounting strength and was granted the nickname, “The MFA Man”. Alongside his career with the MFA, Danny also hauled hay for many neighboring farmers, dabbled in lawn care and even drove a taxi for a time.

In 1982, Danny met Mary Ann Hawley and on October 26, 1985, they were united in marriage and blended their families. They were soon blessed with three children of their own: David, Danielle and April. Together they remained in the Sullivan area raising their children. As a young family they enjoyed spending time at many local parks and taking trips to Six Flags.

Outside of Danny’s career, he was a man that enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved to tinker on small engines such as lawn mowers and weed-eaters. He also enjoyed watching TV; JAG, Rockford Files, Charlie’s Angels and Walker Texas Ranger were some of his favorites. He also loved a good buffet and rarely turned down sweet treats. You could often find Danny listening to some of his favorite southern gospel songs, a testament to his love for the Lord.

Danny was a devoted husband and father that would do anything for his children. He especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with each of them. He will be so dearly missed.

Danny is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Miller of Sullivan, Missouri; five children: Michelle Miller of Rolla, Missouri, Jennifer Owens of Sullivan, Missouri, David Miller of Sullivan, Missouri Danielle Miller of Saint Clair, Missouri and April Miller of Sullivan, MO; 11 wonderful grandchildren: Olivia, Ashton and Bella Hawley, Tiffany Garcia and husband Armando, Darion Owens and wife Alexus, Kaylee Ennis, Mason Lane, Jonathan Miller, Ryan Satterfield, Ethan Ripley and Holly Weymouth; three great grandchildren: Daniel Owens, Korren Nichols, Angeleah Proctor; a brother, Kenny Miller and wife Mary Lou of Bourbon, Missouri; and a sister, Sharon Deskin and husband Ted of Rolla, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edna; four brothers: Bobby, John, Bud, and Mark Miller; and two sisters, Sandra Crider and Beth Gullet.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon, Missouri.
