Dakota Potter

Dakota Shain Potter, 23, of St. Clair, MO, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Dakota was born on April 24, 1998 in Washington, MO, to Eric Mercado and Naomi Shay Potter. He grew up in St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School. Dakota was employed in the commercial construction trade.

Dakota enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He loved pizza, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Dr. Pepper, bonfires and hanging out with friends. However, the most important person in his life was his son, Alexander, whom he adored. Dakota was looking forward to teaching Alex how to play the guitar. He was very loved by his family and many friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Dakota is survived by his son, Alexander Potter; his mother, Naomi Potter of St. Clair, MO; his father, Eric Mercado; his grandparents, Greg and Sandra Potter of St. Clair, MO; three brothers and two sisters; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements have taken place. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
