Claire R. Calvin

Claire R. Calvin “Claire Bear,” age 9, of Sullivan, MO passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 29, 2022 after courageously battling DIPG for 31 months.
Claire Renee Calvin was born October 23, 2013 in Washington, MO to Terry Jr. and Rachael (Bristow) Calvin. She grew up and attended Sullivan Primary and Elementary school. Claire loved going to school, even making sure to attend her party on the last day prior to Christmas break. She absolutely enjoyed being with her friends, and especially loved sleepovers! Claire had a zeal for life along with a uniquely genuine enthusiasm for life that cannot be described. She had an uncanny ability to take life’s normalcies and turn them into something extra special.
In 2020, Clair was diagnosed….
She overcame all odds….
Clair also loved participating in dance and gymnastics. During her illness, TikTok became a helpful outlet for her to express herself by creating dance choreography videos. Claire had the biggest heart, so full of compassion, and her strong spirit was unrivaled.
Claire is survived by her parents, Rachael Record and her husband Jarrod and Terry Calvin, Jr. and his wife Brandy, all of Sullivan; her siblings: Kate Calvin, Wyatt & Thatcher Record, Mackenzie & Ryleigh Dixon, and Izabellah & Arianna Davis; her grandparents, Jeff and Dawn Bristow of Sullivan, MO and Keith and Jerri Record of Sullivan, MO; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mia Calvin; her grandfather, Terry Calvin, Sr.; her great-grandmother, Bonnie Barth; and great-grandfather, Russell Calvin.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Sullivan High School Theatre with Pastor Rob Cardwell officiating. Burial will follow in Old Argo Cemetery near Japan, MO.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Sullivan High School Theatre.
Memorial contributions in Claire’s memory may be made to the Team Kaden Foundation.
