Christopher Shane Wright, 45, of Sullivan, MO, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Phelps Health Center in Rolla, MO. Born on March 1, 1978, in St. Louis, MO, to his parents, Richard and Marilynn (Frazier) Wright, Christopher (Greek origin meaning “bearer of Christ”), was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His 45 years of life were marked by dedication, laughter, and an unwavering faith.

Growing up in Sullivan, Christopher was a vibrant presence at Sullivan High School, graduating in 1996. He was known for his active participation in theatre and choir, radiating a passion for the arts.  Christopher continued his education at East Central College and later received his B.A. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. It was there that he honed his skills and prepared for a career that would touch countless lives.

In 2000, Christopher began his teaching journey in Rolla, MO, where he became a beloved second and third-grade teacher at Wyman Elementary School. His unique ability to connect with his students and inspire a love of learning was evident in every lesson he taught. After 13 years of shaping young minds, Christopher transitioned into a role as an IT specialist with the Rolla School District. His expertise and passion for technology transformed the educational experience for both students and teachers. Recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2004, Christopher's dedication to education was undeniable.

An active member of the Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA), Christopher was a familiar face at national conferences, where he enthusiastically presented and introduced innovative technology and concepts for the education field. His commitment to education extended beyond the classroom and into the broader community of educators.

Christopher was a devout follower of Christ and his interests and involvement in his church, Temple Baptist Church, reflected his deep faith. He was an integral part of the technology team, selflessly volunteering his time every Sunday to operate sound and video for worship services. His contributions to the church's mission and community were a testament to his faith-filled spirit. In his younger years, Christopher's passion for service was evident in his participation in youth mission trips, where he helped spread kindness and compassion.

A man of many talents and interests, Christopher had a love for reading, watching movies, and could always be counted on for a thorough movie critique or an impressive recall of movie trivia. His sense of humor and intelligence shone through in his hobbies, which included cooking new recipes, as well as a cherished Star Wars collection that he enjoyed adding to over the years. Christopher's journey on earth may have come to an end, but the stories, memories, and lessons he left behind will continue to inspire and guide the countless lives he touched.

Christopher is survived by his loving parents, Richard and Marilynn of Sullivan; his brother, Eric Wright of St. Louis, MO; aunts & uncles:  Janice Dunn and husband, Arthur, Connie Blythe all of Springfield, MO, Lisa Curtis of Cuba, MO, Gene Wright and wife, Lois, Jim Wright, Steve Wright and wife, Conchi all of Springfield, MO, Tom Wright and wife, Sheila of Clever, MO, and Doug Wright of Springfield, MO; and numerous cousins, relatives, friends, and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Cecil & Ethel Frazier and Carl & Eila Wright; and two uncles, John Wright and David Wright.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.  Interment will follow at I.O.O.F Memorial Cemetery, Sullivan.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 15, 2023 at Temple Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be given in Christopher’s memory to the Lasting Legacy Building Fund of Temple Baptist Church.
