Cheryl (Manning) Holbrook, 78, of Washington, Missouri passed away at home on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Cheryl was born July 20, 1944 to John and Dorothy Manning of Spring Bluff, Missouri. Cheryl graduated from Hickman High School in Columbia and attended Miss Hickey’s Secretarial School in St Louis, MO. She was employed during this time at the University of Missouri book store in Columbia, MO.

She was a homemaker in her early years and re-entered the workforce in the early 1980's, working for JTPA and the YMCA in Lima, OH, Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. She eventually opened her own sewing/seamstress business creating original formal dresses and outfits, unique and personalized Raggedy Ann dolls and keepsakes for other families touched by loss. Cheryl was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She had a great passion for hosting tea parties for her family and friends.

 

Cheryl is survived by her children: Scot Weir and wife, Paula Schaire, of Verona, New Jersey, Dr. David Weir and wife, Dr. Elaine Yang, of New York City, NY and Amy Weir, and wife, Ashley Shuart of Davison, Michigan; three sisters: Dorothy Pate of Indianapolis, Indiana, Deborah Paul of Sullivan, Missouri and Christine Perrey of Joplin, Missouri; 5 grandchildren: Christopher Elwood, Johnathon Elwood, Rachael Weir, Ainsley Weir, and Adeline Weir; numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy and one brother Robert Manning.

Services will be 12:30 P.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Life Stream Church, 551 Lewis and Clark Drive, Washington, Missouri with Pastor Paul Scheperly and Pastor Larry Snyder officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to a brief visitation beginning at 11:30 and a time of fellowship, following service for a “tea party” in remembrance of Cheryl.
