Carolyn “Sue” Rose Roach was born July 2, 1954 to Carl Eugene Rose and Carol Ann Hoerath Rose Gray. Sadly, our beautiful Sue left us August 19, 2022 after a brief and sudden illness.

Sue was born in Sullivan, Missouri moving to Indiana where she attended school graduating from Grandville Wells in Jamestown, Indiana in 1972. She remained friends with many classmates over the years.

Around 1975 Sue returned to Sullivan where she married William Roach on her birthday in 1977. They spent 43 years together until Bill passed away May 10, 2020. Sue and Bill had one son, Eric William Roach.

Sue was a big Jeopardy fan and in over 40 years rarely missed a show. She loved trivia, music, books and movies. There wasn’t much she didn’t know. You didn’t want to go up against her in Trivial Pursuit or Scrabble. She and Bill loved to play cards and bowl. They both were exceptional bowlers.

She loved her family. Spending time with family, sharing good times was important to her. Two of her greatest loves were her grandson’s Bryce and Corbin. Those boys were her world, she was so very proud of them.

Being raised with a good work ethic, Sue worked hard and took pride in her efforts. She retired from Meramec Industries in Sullivan where she was employed for over 40 years.

Sue now joins those who passed before her. A loving father, Carl Rose; husband, Bill Roach; sister, Carla Devol; brother, Daniel Rose; her mother and father-in-law, William Roach II and Alice Key Roach; her pet, Peaches and very special friend, Jim Nelson.

Those of us who remain behind, whose hearts are heavy, who pray for peace of spirit and understanding include her mother, Carol Gray; “Mom #2” how she lovingly described step-mother, Dianna Rose; brothers, Dennis Rose and wife Bonnie of Bland, MO, Curtis Rose and wife Robin of Bland, MO and James Poland; sisters, Cheryl Sims and husband Stan of Poland, IN, Cara Williams of Lebanon, IN and Deana Hart and husband Jimmy of Tennessee; her son, Eric Roach; grandsons, Bryce and Corbin; loving aunts, Ruth Simpson of Bourbon, MO and Berniece Ketterer of Missouri; so many nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins. So many people who shared not only her life, but the love she had to give.

Sue, you will be forever loved, forever missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society are preferred.

Arrangements by Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
