Bryce Dean Hulsey, 86, of Bourbon, MO passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Born in rural Washington county outside of Sullivan, MO on July 13, 1937, Bryce was a man who embodied the virtues of hard work, loyalty, and honesty throughout his life.

Bryce's journey began near Pea Ridge, where he grew up and attended school. He later graduated from Sullivan High School with the class of 1955, marking the beginning of a life filled with achievements, joy, and the formation of lasting relationships. On January 4, 1958, Bryce married the love of his life, Sheryl Reeves, in Steelville, a union that would stand the tests of time with love and commitment.

Bryce's work life saw him don the hat of a home builder, laying the foundation for countless homes and, in the process, building a legacy of craftsmanship and quality. In 1968, Bryce joined his family in co-founding Associated Crafts General Contracting, an enterprise he would be involved with until 2007. His business acumen, combined with his dedication to quality, saw the company thrive, becoming a testament to Bryce's hard work and determination.

Despite his professional life, Bryce always found time for his interests. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed the serenity of nature through hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. His love for nature extended to farming and ranching cattle, activities that brought him immense joy and satisfaction. His fondness for pheasant and squirrel hunting was well-known among his friends and family, as was his love for the family cabin in Canada, a place where he found peace and tranquility.

Above all, Bryce was a family man. He was the leader and patriarch of his family, a mentor to many young men in the construction trade, and a beacon of wisdom and guidance. His word was his bond, a trait that earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Bryce's presence was a source of comfort and security, and his love for his family was evident in his every action.

Bryce is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Sheryl Hulsey of Bourbon, MO; two children, Jay Hulsey and wife, Bridget of Bourbon and Gay Ely and husband, Lon of St. Clair, MO; 4 grandchildren: Kyle Hulsey and wife, Mary, of Sullivan, MO, Garrett Hulsey and wife, Melissa of Bourbon, Paige Bloom and husband, Pat of Affton, MO and Keri Danielson and husband, Dakota of St. Clair; 8 great-grandchildren: Lorelai, Brilee, Havannah, Shay, Bode, Bennett, Jolee and Sawyer; a brother, Bob Hulsey and wife, Teresa of Sullivan, MO; two sisters Pat Hammond and husband, Clifford of Livonia, MI, and Carol Lueken and husband, George of Sullivan, and other relatives and many friends.
