Brian Mark Woodcock, 67, of Sullivan, MO passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, March 25, 2024.  He was born on Sunday, April 29, 1956, at the old hospital in Sullivan, MO, to Norma Jean (nee Brown) Woodcock and Thomas “Junior” Woodcock, Jr. and spent his childhood on the family farm in Stanton, MO.

Brian’s life was defined by his desire for adventure and for his strong, committed love for his family and friends.  Brian attended Sullivan High School, graduating in the class of 1974.  He was married to Sandra Deanne West on June 13, 1982.  They were blessed with three children, Elizabeth, Tyler, and Dustin.  Brian and Sandra later divorced in 1994.

Brian’s first job was with Beacon Construction Company.  Then working for Brown and Root Industrial Services, as a welder.  During these years Brain traveled a lot for work, living in Arkansas and Oklahoma for a brief period.  Brian and Sandra settled down in Sullivan, MO, just prior to their first son being born.  Brian began his career at Chrysler on January 10, 1984.  Brian got into the skilled trades which led him to his final role of boiler maker/compressor repairman in the Power House at Chrysler.  He was employed at the Fenton Chrysler Plant for twenty-seven years until the plant was completely shut down.  Brian was amongst the last of the Chrysler employees, retiring in 2011.

Brian was known for his witty humor, intellectual mind, firm opinions, and his huge heart, prompting his desire to lend a hand to those closest to him.  Brian loved the great outdoors.  He had a passion for hunting, fishing, boating, and all that Mother Nature has to offer.  He loved poetry and a good book.  You’d often hear him reciting some of his favorite poems and inspiring quotes.  Brian had a very statistical mind that lent well to his love of sports.  He loved baseball and hockey and enjoyed college basketball.  In the last few years of his life, he became a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, enjoying the camaraderie of others; his most treasured past time.

Brian is survived by his children:  Elizabeth Halmick of Sullivan, MO, Tyler Woodcock and wife, Khelsey of Potosi, MO, and Dustin Woodcock of Sullivan; five grandchildren:  Grace Halmick & Grant Halmick both of Sullivan, Allie Woodcock & Annie Woodcock both of Dallas, TX, and Narhyia Corson of Potosi; 6 sisters:  Karen Burmeister of St. Peters, MO, Nancy Murrie and husband, Steve, Julie Hook and husband Fred all of Washington, MO, Becky Woodcock & Ellen Bryan both of Sullivan, and Laurie Keller and husband Tom of Washington, MO; a brother, Casey Woodcock and wife, Tammy of Sullivan; his man friends, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas “Junior” and Norma Jean Woodcock and a brother, Denny Woodcock.

Services will be 12:00 PM Noon, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Mr. Tom Thompson officiating.  Cremation has taken place.

The Woodcock family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated in memory of Brian.
