Brenda L. Murray

Brenda Lynn Murray, 60, of Sullivan, MO passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2023, in St. Louis, MO. Born on August 26, 1963, Brenda was a beacon of kindness and generosity, whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Brenda began her working life in Sullivan, working at Ted's Snack Bar, later moving on to Rose's and Bobber Cafe. Her dedication and hard work were evident in all she did, but her true passion was her family. In 1982, she married Doug Summers, and although their marriage ended in divorce, they remained close friends. Their union was blessed with two sons, Anthony Murray and Douglas "DJ" Summers, who were the center of Brenda's world.
Brenda was a devoted mother who chose to stay home and care for her family. She poured her love into her home, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who entered. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, from the meals she lovingly prepared to the time she spent with her grandchildren.
In later years, Brenda found love again with Bridgett Hunter. The two shared many happy years together, their bond a testament to Brenda's capacity for love and kindness.
Brenda's interests were simple but meaningful. She enjoyed cooking and eating home-cooked meals, a testament to her belief in the importance of family and togetherness. She also loved shopping and spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and happiness.
Brenda was a woman of many virtues, but it was her generosity, kindness, and gentle spirit that set her apart. She had a heart that was always open, a hand that was always ready to help, and a smile that could light up a room. Her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the love and kindness she shared so freely.
Brenda is survived by her sons, Anthony Murray and his companion, Jessica Mizzell of Union, MO and Douglas “DJ” Summers, and fiancée Amber Branch of Sullivan, MO her wife, Bridgett Murray of Waynesville, MO; three brothers: Keith Murray and his wife, Cathy of Fulton, MO, Donald Murray of Cuba, MO, and Richard Murray and his wife Tina of Lake Havasu City, AZ; one sister, Mary Tyree of Cuba, MO; six grandchildren: Dawn Weinbaum-Murray, Adam Campbell, Madison Senjo, Isaiah Murray, Blaise Summers, Lexi Summers; one great-grandchild, Adalina Grace Lynn Pelt, and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Frances (Pritchett) Murray, and a sister, Patricia Damewood.
