Brenda K. Garrison, 70, of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2022 at Mercy Hospital – Washington. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda Kay Garrison was born in Vernon, Texas on August 2, 1952 to Jimmie and Doretta (Bacon) Beebe. She grew up and attended school in various places across Texas while her family was involved in evangelistic ministries with the Assemblies of God. She graduated from Spur, Texas high school, class of 1970.

In February of 1973, Brenda met the love of her life, Larry Garrison, while her family was holding a revival in Bourbon, MO. They were soon united in marriage on May 26, 1973 in Vernon, Texas. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Belinda Kristina and Melissa Dianne. They resided in Bourbon until 1979, then decided to move to Vernon, TX for some time, and eventually made their way back to Bourbon to make it their final home. In 1986, Brenda went to work for East Central College and became the Program Assistant for the Allied Health Department. After 31 years of employment at ECC, she retired in 2017. Brenda embraced her role in mentoring and advising many young nursing students at ECC.

Brenda loved the Lord and accepted Christ as her Savior at a very young age. Throughout her life, she always remained faithful to the churches she would attend. She served the Lord in many different ways, including teaching Sunday School, playing the piano, leading women’s ministry, and as a church secretary. Brenda was a long-time member of the Lasting Hope Assembly of God in Bourbon.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Larry Garrison of Bourbon, MO; two daughters, Kristi Scott and husband Jeff of Lonedell, MO and Melissa Popp and husband Rueben of Saint Clair, MO; three grandchildren: Dessa “Paige” Scott, and Corvin & Hagen Popp; her mother, Doretta Beebe of Bourbon, MO; two brothers, Larry Beebe and wife Barbara and Randy Beebe and wife Melody, all of Poplar Bluff, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Jimmie Beebe; her grandparents; a niece, Brandy Beebe; and mother-in-law, Delma Garrison.

Funeral Services were 11 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Lasting Hope Assembly of God with Pastors Jeff Scott, James Austin, and Frank Brooks officiating. Interment followed in Bourbon Cemetery.

Visitation was 9 - 11 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Lasting Hope Assembly of God in Bourbon.
