Brenda Joyce Huffman, age 75 passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, in St. Louis, MO. Born on November 3, 1947, in St. Louis, to the late Marvin P. and Colleen (Thompson) Hahn, Sr. Brenda was raised in St. Louis, where she attended school and made a lifetime of cherished memories

Brenda spent most of her working life in the food service industry, dedicating twenty-five years to Maritz in Fenton, MO. Her hard work and dedication were appreciated by her colleagues and customers alike. She was a true team player and a valued member of the Maritz family.

In her free time, Brenda pursued a variety of interests that brought joy to her and those around her. She had a talent for embroidery and found great pleasure in tending to her flower garden. Listening to music, talking to her friends on the phone, and cooking were among her favorite pastimes. Brenda also enjoyed adult coloring books, often creating beautiful works of art that she displayed on the doors of her room. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing Chinese checkers with her good friend Mary. Brenda had a great love for animals and had many pets over the years including Cupcake, which  was her last rescue dog.

Brenda was a spit-fire, always very positive, sweet, and giving. She faced adversity with grace and courage, having been diagnosed with kidney disease early in her life. In 1982, her sister Audrey selflessly donated a kidney, which was a perfect match, extending Brenda's life by an incredible forty years. This gift from her sister was a testament to the love and bond they shared, and it allowed Brenda to continue spreading joy to everyone she encountered.

She is survived by three siblings, Marvin P. Hahn, Jr. and wife Cindy of Waterloo, IL, Colleen Gilmore of Sullivan, MO, David Hahn and wife Kris of Waukesha, Wisconsin, as well as nieces and nephews, Kevin and Katy Reese, Brian and Linda Reese, Doug and Kelley Gilmore, Stuart and Jen Gilmore, and Susan Gilmore. A host of great-nieces and nephews, and many friends, also held a special place in Brenda's heart.

Those who knew Brenda will remember her as a loving and generous person always willing to help others and brighten their day with her infectious smile and kind heart. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cremation services have taken place.  A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home.
