Betty Schnelting, age 90, of Gerald, MO, passed away at her home on Monday, March 8, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Betty Lee was born in St. Louis, MO, February 6, 1931, to John James and Margaret (Garlock) Carr. Io March 25, 1951 Betty was united in marriage to Lawrence Schnelting, and they were blessed with five sons: Lonnie, Larry, Terry, Tracy and Chris. Betty was a homemaker for most of her life; however, she worked as a nurse’s aide in the nursing home for some time. Betty was a tough, spunky little lady. She enjoyed hunting arrowheads, riding motorcycles, crafting and going to yard sales. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star Hillsboro Chapter and was raised Catholic. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Betty is survived by her four sons: Lonnie Schnelting of Bland, MO, Larry Schnelting and wife, Tammy, of Gerald, MO, Terry Schnelting and wife, Rita, of Gerald, MO, and Tracy Schneilting of Freeman, MO; thirteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Schnelting; one son, Chris Schnelting; her parents, John and Margaret Carr; one brother, Bill Carr; and three sisters: Ilene Carr, Iva Hubbs and Romaine Lehnen. 

Cremation services have taken place. A Memorial service will be 12 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Eaton Funeral Home.
