Bernice Amanda Copeland

Bernice Amanda Copeland, 93, of Gerald, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at her residence in Gerald.

Bernice was born Jan. 1, 1929, to Fred and Leona (Altemeyer) Sieker in Gerald.

She was united in marriage to John Donald Copeland on Sept. 16, 1950, in Leslie, Mo.

She worked as an assembler in the shoe manufacturing industry. She enjoyed dancing, playing pinochle, going to the gambling boat, reading, and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Leona Sieker; her husband, Donald Copeland; her sisters, Hilda Julius, Marie Julius,Viola Nicks, and Lorraine Steineker; brothers, Milfred Sieker, Lester Sieker, Lawrence Sieker, and Stanley Sieker; brothers-in-law, Gene Julius, Shorty Nicks, John Steineker; Gene Copeland, Jr. Hecht, and Jim Schmidt; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Sieker, Joyce Sieker, Mary Lou Copeland, and Lois Copeland.

She is survived by her children, Connie Luther and husband Les of Cuba, Joe Copeland and wife Sue of Gerald, and Johnnie Copeland and fiancé Brenda of Gerald; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Hecht and Peggy Schmidt; grandchildren, Don Angell and wife Kristen, Dustin Angell, Amanda Kolb and husband Kyle, Nathan Copeland, Tyler Copeland, Jacob Copeland, Caden Baker, and Blaine Baker; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hudson, Harper, Hope, Harlow, Hattie, Aubree, and Olivia Angell; and Kenna, Lexi, and Jayci Kolb.

Her body was cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Her interment of ashes will be at New Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Gerald.
