Austin Dylan Kilburn, age 11, of Sullivan, MO, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Austin was born in Washington, MO on May 20, 2011 to James D. and Victoria C. (Midyett) Kilburn. Austin was a student at Sullivan Elementary and was nearing the end of his fifth grade year. He was very loved by his classmates, teachers, and other staff members at the elementary school. Austin loved school and his family always thought of him as the genius of the family.

Austin was the coolest big kid to his cousins and nephews. He truly just loved everyone, and he was very loved in return. Austin always said “I love you.” He would not go to sleep, get off of the phone, or leave a room without saying “I love you,” no matter who was listening or watching. He always had a mouth like he was 6ft tall and was ripped like the Hulk. Austin loved many things, including baseball, football, video games, riding his bike, fishing, shooting his bow, swimming, and dancing. He will be so missed by everyone that knew him and will remain in the hearts of his family forever.

Austin is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Vicky Kilburn of Sullivan; three siblings: Ian, Logan, and Anna Kilburn, all of Sullivan; his grandparents: Kim and Jim Kilburn, Bill and Denise Midyett, and Gloria and Eugene Parker; great-grandpa, James “Red” Kilburn; two great-grandmas, Lovetta Midyett and Marilyn Mason; two nephews, Oliver and Conway Kilburn; three uncles: Jake Kilburn, Matt Kilburn (Addie Blankenship Kilburn), and Kyle Midyett; two cousins, Blake and Owen Kilburn; other extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents: Martha Kilburn, Sandra Mason, and Winfred Adell Mason; his maternal great-grandparents: Ann McKay, Johnny Midyett, Jesse McKay, and Bobbie McKay; and his maternal uncle, Brian Midyett.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Sullivan High School Theater. In honor of Austin, family and friends are encouraged to wear a Marvel comic t-shirt.

Private family services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Memorial contributions in Austin’s memory may be made to the Austin Kilburn Memorial Fund at First Community National Bank in Sullivan or HALO.

All arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan.
