Anthony "Tony" David Matchell

Anthony "Tony" David Matchell, of Steelville, MO, was born on Wednesday, December 25, 1985, in Washington, MO to Lois Kay Klocke.  He passed away at Phelps Health on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the age of 37 years, 10 months and 24 days.

 

Tony is survived by his parents Lois and Jerry Hollingshead of Sullivan, MO; fiancée Theresa Wuebbels of Steelville, MO; children Logan Matchell, Isabella Matchell and Gavin Matchell all of Steelville, MO; step-children Trent Arterburn of Steelville, MO and Morgan Wuebbels of Belleville, IL; grandmother Bonnie Hollingshead of Sullivan, MO; siblings Laura (Michael) Missey of Germany, Emma Matchell of Springfield, MO, Jerod Hollingshead and Evan Hollingshead both of Sullivan, MO; special brother Brandon Raybrook of Bourbon, MO; close friends Justin Evans and Richard Baker both of Bourbon, MO, Chek Kwok and Chris Fisher both of Sullivan, MO and Josh Copeland of Steelville, MO; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Verna Klocke, Samuel Jerry Matchell, Butch and Brenda Skala and Pearl Hollingshead; uncle James Klocke; close friends Jimmy Summers, Zac Brown and Brandon White.

 

Anthony was a member of the Bourbon High School Class of 2004.  When he was younger, he was a Boy Scout; he was a member of the Sullivan Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3781. He worked for the last 13 years as a Production Manager at APDC (American Precision Die Casting) in Cuba, MO.  Tony loved hunting, fishing, and camping.  He enjoyed music and viking culture.  Tony was a jack of all trades, he enjoyed working with his hands whether it was wood working, construction, or mechanics.  Tony was fluent in sarcasm and just loved having his mom take pictures of him all of the time.  Most of all, Anthony loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his children.  He was a devoted son, life partner, father, uncle, cousin, and friend.

 

Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Memorial Service immediately followed at 7:00 PM.  The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO's Facebook Page.  The family chose cremation as his final disposition.  Memorials we’re suggested to the 'Friends of Kids with Cancer.'
