Almeta Williams, 80, of Bourbon, MO, passed away peacefully at home, amidst her family, on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Almeta Gay Jones was born October 19, 1940 near St. James, MO, to Roy and Ruth (Matlock) Jones. She grew up and attended school at Matlock and eventually into St. James. On January 23, 1958, she married Richard Lee Williams and to this union three children were born: Kelly Jo, Richard Erik and Amy Linette. Their lives were later enriched with ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Early in their life together, Almeta assisted Richard greatly with their family businesses. Her life was forever changed on Easter Sunday of 1974, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Together with Richard, they became a very integral part of the Lord’s ministry. Being the wife of a pastor, she was very active in different areas, especially children and bus ministries. She was a strong woman of faith and always desired to share the gospel with others.

Many were blessed over the years by her love of cooking. Her family has many fond memories of Sunday dinners at her home. She will be missed by many family and friends.

Almeta is survived by her three children and their spouses: Kelly Jo and husband, Steve Peters, Richard Erik Williams and wife, Michelle, all of Bourbon, and Amy Linette and husband, George Jainchill, of Columbia, MO. Almeta is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren (with another on the way).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Lee Williams; one great grandchild; her parents; her parents-in-law, Roger and Jessica Williams; and three brothers: Ola Jones, Roy M. Jones and Larry Jones.
