Alice O. Nye, 81, of Bourbon, MO, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her home.

Alice Orlene (Bacon) was born July 13, 1939 in Sullivan, MO, to Oram Franklin & Charlettia Annaray (Dunkle) Bacon. She grew up and attended and graduated from Bourbon High School, class of 1957. Alice married the love of her life, Roy Nye, on November 14, 1959, and together they were blessed with a daughter, Coan.

For nearly ten years, Alice worked as a sales clerk for the Somerville Store. She was always a caretaker at heart and left the Somerville Store to become a caretaker for many members of her own family. Alice also worked alongside her husband on the farm, up until his passing in 2009.

Alice loved spending time outdoors gardening, putting quilts together, crafting, reading, solving search word puzzles, listening to music and dancing. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Coan Liszewski and husband, Jeff, of Bourbon, MO; two brothers: Raymond Bacon and wife, Linda, of Sullivan, MO, and Oram Bacon and wife, Janis, of Shipman, IL; one sister, Charlene Copeland of Cuba, MO; brother-in-law, John Blender of Lebanon, MO; sister-in-law, Lucille Nye; special nephew, Tim Nye; dear friends: Vera Feager of Manchester, MO, and Mary Lee Bock of Bourbon, MO; as well as other extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents, Oram and Charlettia; a sister, MaryAnn Blender; a brother-in-law, Robert Copeland; and a niece, Little Alice.

Graveside Services for Alice will be held 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Bourbon Cemetery – Bourbon, MO.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bourbon Ecumenical Corp.
