Woman Injured When Vehicle Hydroplanes Into Tractor Trailer

A Neosho woman on June 24 was injured when the vehicle she was traveling in hydroplaned into a tractor trailer on Interstate 44 in Franklin County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 2 p.m. at the 229 mile marker.

According to the patrol, an eastbound 2018 Subaru Forester driven by an 18-year-old Neosho man began hydroplaning in the left lane. The Subaru slid and spun into the right lane, where its front struck the rear of a trailer being pulled by an eastbound 2025 Kenworth T680 driven by a 47-year-old Hillsboro man.

A 44-year-old Neosho woman, who was a passenger in the Subaru, suffered minor injuries. She was taken by Sullivan Ambulance to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital.

Both drivers and the injured passenger were wearing safety devices.
