Highway W Bridge Closure Rescheduled For June 8
The closure of the Highway W bridge over Ashley Branch in Washington County has been rescheduled to begin Monday, June 8.
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) said crews will close the bridge to all traffic beginning June 8.
The closure is expected to remain in place around the clock through the end of July while the bridge deck is replaced.
Motorists will need to use alternate routes during the closure.
The bridge was built in 1963.
According to MoDOT, the bridge’s supporting structures remain in good condition, but the driving surface is nearing the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.
The new driving surface will be 24 feet wide, the same width as the current structure.
MoDOT is reminding drivers to use caution near work zones, obey posted signs, slow down and avoid distractions.
More information about the project is available through MoDOT’s project page.
