Track And Field Continues Momentum In Borgia

Sullivan’s track and field team continues to leap over new hurdles and go the distance in their events. They competed in Borgia for their third season tournament on Tuesday, Apr. 1.

The varsity boys finished fifth with 80 points, while the girls placed sixth with 51 points.

Coach Terry Wood is excited to keep developing his athletes as they shoot for success. He is proud of them for always putting “their utmost effort forward” in every challenge they tackle. Wood shared, “The athletes are learning how to embrace discomfort and pushing through challenges they wouldn’t have tried to face earlier. They’re starting to see and experience growth. We’re excited to see how our group develops from here!”

Jayson Summers won the 300-meter hurdles in a speedy 41.80 seconds.

Ruby Daily was the runner-up in the discus, throwing for 28.28 meters.

Carter Rochleau landed third in the high jump at 1.75 meters.

Cameron York received bronze in the shot put (12.11m) and ranked fourth in the discus (34.63m).

Aidan Hutchison placed fourth in the shot put (12.05m), and William Hunter clinched the same spot in the 400-meter dash (56.39).

Katelyne Carpenter finished fourth in the long jump (4.48m) and triple jump (9.4m).

The boys’ 4x100-meter throwers (56.46) and 4x800-meter runners (10:03.31) took silver in their relays. 

The boys’ 4x100-meter runners ranked fourth at 49.01 seconds. 

The girls’ 4x100-meter throwers took fourth and finished at 1:17.68.
