Three Lady Eagles Strike Gold At Desoto Wrestling Classic
The Lady Eagles slayed their competition at the 5th Annual Lady Dragon Wrestling Classic on Friday, Jan. 31. They finished sixth out of seventeen teams with 90 points. The top five consisted of Festus (164), Liberty-Wentzville (129), the host Desoto (124.5), Pacific (110) and Hannibal (96).
Chloe Carson (155) led Sullivan with 25 points in her first-place finish. She locked up Mylah Dolde (Festus) in 0:33 and Marissa Johnson (Pacific) in 0:38, then beat Sidney Zimmerman (Hannibal) in a 15-2 major decision.
Dorie Richardson (140) won her seventh consecutive championship for her senior season. She shut down Lexi Daniels (Liberty-Wentzville) in 1:32 and won by medical forfeit over Dani Gullet (Festus).
Abigail Erfurth (235) clinched the top of the podium with 20 points. She left no time for her opponents on the mat, pinning Chloe Gould (Hillsboro) in 1:03 and Lilionna Greenwood (Hannibal) in 0:48.
Katie Summers (190) received bronze with 14 points, going 2-1 on Friday. She wrapped up Victoria Abramczyk (Liberty-Wentzville B) at 0:17 and Autumn Bunton (Dexter) at 3:15.
Autumn Hardesty (125) won one of her four bouts for sixth place. She earned seven points by bringing down Lillie Wright (Central-Park Hills) in 0:52.
Despite falling in both matches, Starr Hardesty (145) gave it her all in Desoto.
