Man Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run Due in Court

A Florida man charged in a fatal hit-and-run that took the life of a pedestrian in Sullivan is due in court next week.

Etem Missark is scheduled to appear before Judge Matthew Houston on Thursday, Jan. 16 and again Thursday, Jan. 23.

Missark is accused of veering off the roadway on Interstate 44 at the 225 mile marker, striking an Arcadia man who was fixing a tire on the shoulder.

Missark’s International truck also collided with the victim’s truck before fleeing the scene.

The Arcadia man died at the scene.

Missark continued traveling, eventually being arrested in Pennsylvania.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond. His attorney’s request to have his bond reduced was denied on Dec. 30.
