Wrestling Battles Potosi And Owensville In Tri
Sullivan clashed with Owensville and the host Potosi in a tri-meet on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Varsity Boys
The varsity Eagles came up short 34-30 to the Dutchmen but rallied back to win 38-29 over the Trojans.
Ian Henderson racked up twelve points for Sullivan. He swept his class, locking up Noel Baguio (Owensville) in 0:44 and seizing a victory by forfeit.
Eli Peregoy ran the table in Potosi, earning 11 points for the Eagles. He first brought down Diego Lansford (Owensville) in 1:27, then silenced Braxton Boyer (Potosi) 17-0 in a 1:52 technical fall.
Brennan Birrer clutched a win in his final round four seconds before the final whistle. He pinned Nick Brown (Potosi) in 5:56, bouncing back after his 0:55 loss to Landon Kramme (Owensville).
Carter Blankenship brought the boom to Gavin Stone (Potosi) in 2:12. He rebounded with a victory after first losing to Steven Buddemeyer (Owensville) in 5:04.
Oliver Borton wrapped up Zachary Holtmeyer (Owensville) at 1:02. He later fell to Zane Richards (Potosi) at 3:48.
Austin Ray bounced back with a 7-2 decision win over Blayne Maxwell (Potosi) after falling at 1:50 to Kyle Blair (Owensville).
Ethan Turner delivered a 2:19 takedown over Cael Walker (Owensville). In his later match, he could not overcome Karsen Boyer (Potosi), falling in 0:31.
Brodyn Huebner left everything on the mat at the tri-meet. He fiercely battled Zach Barch (Owensville) and Justin Reynolds (Potosi) in his two losses.

Abigail Erfurth swept her competition, beating her Owensville opponent in a decision and Jazmine Ramsey (Potosi) in a 1:26 pin.
Chloe Carson locked up Brenna Purselt (Owensville) at 0:45 and then fell to Launa Cantrell (Potosi) at 1:52.
Ruby Daily earned six points with a forfeited win in the Potosi dual. She earlier fell at 2:31 to Bailee Dare (Owensville) on Thursday.
Autumn Hardesty showed grit in her bouts, where she lost to Violet Lavalle (Owensville) at 3:39 and Kadence Vance (Potosi) at 1:25.
Starr Hardesty gave it her all on the mat in her 1:27 fall to Jazmine Ramsey (Potosi).
The Lady Eagles dropped both duals: 42-21 to the Dutchgirls and 48-24 to the Lady Trojans.
