Athlete of the Week - Evvie Blankenship

For this week’s SHS athlete of the week, I would like to introduce Evvie Blankenship. Blankenship is a senior and has played softball since her freshman year. Since then, it has been clear that she would hold a huge role in their roster.

I asked Blankenship, “What is your favorite part about SHS’s softball program?” She responded, “I would say my favorite part about the softball program is the family I form. We walk into summer training barely knowing each other, and in such a small amount of time, we build everlasting friendships. It seems to just come naturally for our team.” Second, I asked her, “How does the coaching staff go above and beyond their roles?” Blankenship responded, “My coaches push me to my highest capability and always believe in me regardless of the situation. They are always there for me during softball, but also outside of softball. I love every single girl on this team and every single coach, and I am grateful for every single one of them.”
