Johanna Meggison

Johanna Meggison, 82, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital – Saint Louis.
Johanna Meggison was born October 31, 1941, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to the late Vincent and Francesca (Ferreri) Mazzuca. She grew up and attended grade school at Saint Ambrose, later graduating from Sophie Barat High School in 1958.
Shortly after her high school career, Johanna was united in marriage to Richard Kuntz on November 1, 1958, in Saint Louis. Together they began their family and were blessed with three children: Frances, Richard and Carol. They continued raising their family in Saint Louis. Sadly, Johanna and Richard would later divorce.
After some time had passed, Johanna met and soon married Frederick Meggison on May 27, 1972. Together they were blessed with a son, Frederick II. As a family, they moved to Sullivan for a change of scenery where Johanna made her final home. Unfortunately, Fred and Johanna parted ways. While living in Sullivan, Johanna went to work for the Sullivan Hospital as a housekeeper, eventually retiring from her position in housekeeping management in 2007 after a nearly 25 -year long career.
In her retirement, she enjoyed staying at home and spending time with her children and beloved grandchildren. She was an avid Saint Louis Cardinals Baseball fan, most recently becoming a Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved watching Donnybrook on Channel 9. Johanna was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by those fortunate enough to call her family and friend.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children: Frances Kuntz of Sullivan, Missouri, Richard Kuntz of Sullivan, Missouri, Carol Hicks and companion Daniel Price of Florissant, Missouri and Frederick Meggison II and his wife Amanda of Pacific, Missouri; five grandchildren: Francie, Madison, Johanna, Dylan, and Ian; eight great - grandchildren; a special family friend, Amy Edwards of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two beloved grandchildren, Jared Courtney and Zachary Hicks; her parents, Vincent and Francesa Mazzuca; two infant brothers; and an infant sister, Pauline Mazzuca.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12 PM, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan.
Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 PM, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Eaton Funeral Home prior to memorial mass.
