Softball Crushes St. James 16-1 In Conference Victory
Sullivan’s softball team (10-9) showed St. James (3-14) no mercy in a 16-1 beating on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
The Lady Eagles are second in their conference and hold a 5-1 record against Four Rivers teams. Sullivan scored 71 runs and gave up just nine to Pacific, Owensville, St. Clair and St. James. Their only conference loss was an 8-4 loss to Union.
McKynlee Peterson led Sullivan with three runs and two hits. She racked up 2 RBIs, a stolen base and a walk.
Ava Declue balled out with two runs, 2 RBIs, two stolen bases and two walks.
Ella Blanton had a great showing with two runs, 2 RBIs, a hit and a walk.
Dorie Richardson broke away with two runs, an RBI, a stolen base, a hit and a walk.
Molly Lohden logged two runs, 2 RBIs, two stolen bases and two walks.
Rae Corwin shined with two runs, an RBI, a stolen base and a hit.
Evvie Blankenship notched 2 RBIs, two walks and a hit for a double.
Carli McCreary punched it home twice and walked once.
Evelynn Harris recorded a stolen base and a walk.
Elli Crump scored once.
Blankenship pitched a complete game for Sullivan. She struck out seven batters in four outings. The senior gave up four hits and an earned run on the mound.
