Girls Golf Putts Out Goals In Week Three

Going into week four, Sullivan’s girls’ golf team has been sharpening their skills on the course. They are gearing up for their home Four Rivers Conference tournament on Friday, Sept. 27.

Head coach Brandi Byrd is proud of the improvements her golfers have made each meet. She stated, “They have been doing a good job at picking the right clubs. Their playing has been improving with each match or tournament. We have a goal of improving our score from last year. The girls have individual goals they are working towards, including no double pars. Some of the girls are working towards some putting goals.”

Wright City

The Lady Eagles teed off their week against Wright City on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The varsity team fell 241-337, while the junior varsity girls notched a 120-198 win.

Olivia Barton shot the lowest score for Sullivan at 52.

Kennedy Kloos followed at 55 points, while Izzy Peterson and Maggie Zweifel tied at 56.

Rayna Claus carded a 58, and Lillie Craig posted a 60.

Alyssa Beers was the junior varsity leader, hitting a score of 59.

Liberty Koch and Aleeyah Sanders both tallied 61 points.

St. James

Sullivan came up short 199-240 to St. James in a road loss on the day afterward.

Peterson led the Lady Eagles with 56 points in the conference battle.

Zweifel followed at 2nd, shooting a 58.

Claus carded a score of 62.

Kloos recorded 64 points, and Koch posted a 70.
