Emmett Calvin Jones, of Cuba, MO, was born on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Austin, TX to Casey "CJ" D. Jones, II. and Chelsea Lynn Smith.  He passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident with his mom in Sullivan, MO, at the age of 5 years and 11 days.

Emmett was made out of love and legos.  He was always a happy boy that loved to be home.  He also loved monster trucks, hot wheels, minions, ninja turtles, batman and mario brothers.  Emmett liked to play t-ball, with kinetic sand and video games, especially Luigi's Mansion.  He liked to eat popcorn and tootsie rolls (at the same time), loved slushies, having hard salami and peppers, bacon, beef sticks, watermelon, cashews, fruit and watermelon gum.  He enjoyed time spent at the Magic House and St. Louis Art Museum.  He also enjoyed watching Transformers, his favorite was Bumblebee.  Most of all, Emmett loved to be with his family and was spoiled by them all.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Chelsea Lynn Smith; great grandparents Cindia Bell, Earl Bell, Fred and Merna Smith; poppy and namesake James "Jim" Calvin Young.

Emmett is survived by his loving and devoted father, CJ Jones of Cuba, MO; grandparents Beth "Memme" and Barry "Papa" Culp of Cuba, MO and Guy and Debbie Smith of Steelville, MO; great grandmothers Hilda Bell of Iberia, MO and Carol Watson of Steelville, MO; aunts and uncles Alana Haddox of New Orleans, LA, Todd Sherrick of Bourbon, MO and Michael Moran of NY, and Danielle (Ray) Scott of Springfield, IL; special cousins Bennett and Karson; great aunts and uncles, great great aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.

Visitation is from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.  Funeral Service is at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.  Emmett's father chose cremation as his final disposition. Memorials are suggested to Emmett's daycare, Wise Little Owls for a piece of playground equipment in his memory.
