Lady Eagles Take Team-First Approach

Softball is getting set to take off at the Peoples Bank Back to School Classic this coming weekend. The Lady Eagles are diving into the 2024 season with a team-first mentality, hoping to win a district championship.

Sullivan head coach Ashley Crump has been telling her players that “we want a WE instead of [a] ME environment.” The Lady Eagles aim to build a winning culture that can lead them to success.

She thanked the seniors for stepping up to lead and making this “WE” approach a reality. Crump stated, “They are taking the time to teach during drills, send out reminders, and it has been a great learning environment for everyone.”

Sullivan will have four seniors this coming fall: Dorie Richardson, Molly Lohden, Ava Declue, and Evvie Blankenship.

Crump also praised catcher Carli McCreary, who she says is getting “better and better” into her junior year. The head coach explained that “she’s being more vocal, and her throws have been spot on.”

The other juniors on the roster are Kali McKendrick, Cali Koppelmann-Blue, Evelynn Harris, Morgan Godat, Jada Brooks and Isabelle Britton.

Mia Pridemore, Kynlee Peterson, Madi Ortner and Rae Corwin are the sophomores.

Freshmen Ella Blanton, Kennedi Roach and Elli Crump will join the Lady Eagles.
