Football Takes On New Turf In 2024

The Eagles will begin their next chapter at their home jamboree with new turf and uniforms. The scrimmages will take place on Friday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. Sullivan will host Salem, St. James, Jefferson R-7, Cuba and Lutheran South.

After an intense preseason of training, Eagles head coach Eddie Haar is excited to see his squad’s hard work come to life. “Our team culture over the summer and into fall practice has been very competitive and hardworking,” he explained. “These kids’ efforts to get bigger and stronger over the summer, we couldn’t be more proud of.”

Haar said Sullivan’s objective this year was “to improve each and every week... [to] give ourselves an opportunity to extend our season as far as we can once districts and playoffs start.”

He and the coaching staff look forward to seeing the “numerous underclassmen and seniors who will be starting for the first time on Friday nights.” 

Offensive lineman Nolan Center, wide receiver/defensive back Seth Valley and quarterback Robert York II will captain the Eagles in their final season under the lights.

Sullivan hosts Northwest (Cedar Hill) for their season opener on Thursday, Aug. 29.

The Eagles will then embark on a two-game road trip, playing Jefferson City on Sept. 6 and Union the following Friday. 

Sullivan returns to their home field on Sept. 20 for a conference rivalry clash against St. Clair.

Homecoming is the week afterward, and the Eagles will look to avenge Pacific in a district championship rematch.

Sullivan heads back on the road with matchups against Hermann on Oct. 4 and St. James the following Friday.

The Eagles will close out the regular season with two home contests. They will face Owensville on Oct. 18 for senior night and North County the following Thursday.

All games will start at 7 p.m.
