Jamborees Kick Off Fall Sports
Sullivan High School will hold four jamborees before the fall sports regular season begins.
Football
Football will host its jamboree on its new field on Friday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. Sullivan has invited Salem, St. James, Jefferson R-7, Cuba and Lutheran South to join.
Each team will get 12 plays on offense and 12 plays on defense. Coaches will determine whether to split up plays and who will first be on offense and defense.
The Eagles will have their scrimmages on the south end of the football field, towards the ballpark. The schedule on that side goes as follows:
- Sullivan (Black) vs. Salem (White)
- Salem (White) vs. Jefferson R-7 (Blue)
- Jefferson R-7 (Blue) vs. Sullivan (Black)
- Sullivan (Black) vs. Lutheran South (White)
- St. James (Red) vs. Jefferson R-7 (Blue)
The north-end schedule for games toward the scoreboard will be as follows:
- Cuba (Black) vs. Lutheran South (White)
- Lutheran South (White) vs. St. James (Red)
- St. James (Red) vs. Cuba (Black)
- Salem (White) vs. Cuba (Black)
Softball
Softball is hosting scrimmages at Sullivan Bank Ballpark on Friday, Aug. 23, at 4 p.m. The Lady Eagles will take on West Plains in the first rotation and play Marquette in the third.
According to MSHSAA guidelines, there will be free substitutions, and half-innings will stop after either eight scores or three outs are made. Each squad will play a maximum of eight innings, four against each school.
Volleyball
Volleyball will play their practice games against Owensville and Potosi at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Girls Golf
Girls Golf will hold a black/gold scrimmage at the Sullivan Golf Course on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m.
