Marvin Earl Burnett

Marvin Earl Burnett, 82, of Sullivan, MO, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024 at Victorian Place in Cuba.
He was born in Sullivan on July 18, 1941, to Earl and Lucille (Halmick) Burnett. He grew up and attended the Reeds Defeat School, and then later Sullivan High School, graduating with the class of 1959.
Marvin was drafted into the US Army where he honorably served his country in Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Wanda Mae Bouse on July 23, 1966. They shared over 57 years of marriage together before Wanda’s passing in November of 2023.
Marvin worked various construction jobs throughout his career. He was employed by Westward Construction for many years. His years of hard work and craftsmanship benefitted many of the surrounding communities.
Marvin enjoyed farming, raising cattle, attending auctions, watching old western movies, listening to country music, and mostly just chatting about the ‘good ole days’. Marvin attended the First Assembly of God of Sullivan for many years. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Marvin is survived by his two children, Paula May and husband Chuck of Ballwin, MO and James Burnett of Sullivan, MO; a granddaughter, Olivia May of Ballwin, MO; two sisters, Earlene Stahlman of Pacific, MO, and Shirley Enke and husband Doug of Sullivan, MO; two nieces, Krista Stahlman and Karen Powers and husband Ken; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda, his parents, Earl and Lucille Burnett, and one brother-in-law, Walter Stahlman.
A Graveside Service will be held 11 AM, Friday, July 12, 2024 at Crow Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Blackmore officiating.
