Lois Pauline Koch

Lois Pauline Koch, affectionately known as Polly, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, at the Meramec Nursing Center in her hometown of Sullivan, Missouri. Born on November 14, 1930, in Sullivan, to Clarence and Edith (Mueller) Brewer, Polly's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her throughout her 93 years.
Polly grew up in Sullivan, where she attended local schools and graduated from Sullivan High School in 1948. She cherished her memories of working at the Mason drugstore/soda shop after high school, a place where she became a beloved figure in the community. Polly's career later took her to Pacer Industries, where she dedicated many years of service until her retirement.
On May 20, 1950, Polly married the love of her life, Raymond Koch, at Temple Baptist Church. Their loving partnership was blessed with three children: Pamela, Kent, and Kevin. Polly's family was the centerpiece of her life, and she nurtured them with the same kindness and thoughtfulness that she extended to everyone she met.
Polly's interests were as beautiful and diverse as the irises she loved to tend in her garden. Travel was a passion in her younger years, and she continued to explore new places with friends well into her senior years. A passionate reader and an avid fan of Cardinal baseball, Polly found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Community service was a significant aspect of Polly's life. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and assisted with local elections, always eager to contribute to the well-being of her neighbors. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. As a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years, imparting wisdom and compassion to countless individuals.
Polly was known for her sweet, kind, and mild-mannered nature. She cared deeply about the well-being of all the people in her life, and her wonderful smile was a beacon of light that brought comfort and joy to many. Described as kind, thoughtful, and gentle, Polly embodied these qualities in every interaction and every relationship she fostered.
