Ruth C. Pruessner

Ruth C. Pruessner, 81, of Union, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Union Care Center.
Ruth Christine Pruessner was born July 27, 1942 to Marsh and Leoma (Jaeger) Hiatte in Berger, Missouri. She grew up and attended school in Berger before becoming a telephone operator for a short time. Early in Ruth’s life she was blessed with a son, Michael.
Ruth then ventured to Union, Missouri and was united in marriage to Clifford Zimmer. Together they welcomed two more children of their own, Jeffery and Lisa. While raising her growing family, Ruth was a valued employee of the Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipes Factory in Washington for nearly 20 years. Sadly, Clifford passed in 1984, leaving behind Ruth to continue raising their young family.
After some years, Ruth found love again and was united in marriage to John Pruessner. Together they remained in the community of Union.
Ruth loved to spend her free time watching “Days of Our Lives”, cooking in the kitchen, and completing her crossword puzzles. Her faith was very important to her and she could often be found listening to southern gospel music and gospel messages on her favorite radio station, KLPW. Ruth loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her children, Michael LaBoube of Union, MO and Lisa Tauchert of Villa Ridge, MO; two grandsons, Michael Tauchert and fiancé Billie Jo Dennings of Pawnee City, NE and Travis Tauchert of Villa Ridge, MO; two great – grandchildren: Aydin and Hunter; two brothers, Donald Hiatte of Fulton, MO and Marsh Hiatte of New Haven, MO; and two sisters, Judy Brown of California, MO and Shirley Pease of Fulton, MO; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Zimmer; her second husband, John Pruessner; a son, Jeffrey Zimmer; five siblings, Roy, Willie, George, Patsy and Helen Hiatte.
Graveside services will be 11 AM, Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO.
